Serving Those Who Serve Others: Audrey Givens' Impact at ThriveMore

Audrey Givens works hard to make sure everyone in ThriveMore gets paid. As Payroll Coordinator, she’s the one who handles all the minute details of payment, withholdings and PTO.

She knows that at ThriveMore, creating a great experience for residents begins with creating a supportive experience for team members. Audrey's work helps ensure the nearly 500 people who serve residents every day can focus on their work with confidence, knowing they’re supported behind the scenes.

When Audrey gets a call from a supervisor right before deadline saying someone’s pay doesn’t look correct, she drops everything to make it right.

“I’ve stayed here some nights ‘til 9:30 at night doing payroll, and I’ll continue to do it, just to make sure that these people are actually paid,” she said. She loves being able to solve people’s problems, as well as teach them the finer points of payroll so that the same problem doesn’t happen again.

“I like to be able to give them tips on how they could get ahead of their payroll when they have payroll exceptions, like missing punches, or, you know, they have PTO requests that haven’t been approved — helping them understand how the system works with their earned PTO and how it’s earned,” Audrey said.

Audrey brings her longtime experience in payroll and financial systems to ThriveMore with an extra dose of compassion. She knows first-hand the difficulty of the work of caring for older adults. She spent more than five years as her mother’s full-time caregiver before her passing. She had to learn a lot of the tasks of a CNA, and so she knows how challenging that role can be.

Before starting at ThriveMore in 2024, she hadn’t worked in the senior living industry.

Having experienced the challenges of caregiving firsthand, Audrey understands that her role isn’t just another office job. By helping frontline team members navigate payroll, PTO, and timekeeping, she supports those who provide compassionate care each day.

“People don’t think that that this position actually is a service and contribution, but it really is, because I’m serving the people who are doing that job,” Audrey said.

Whether caring for residents, maintaining a campus, preparing meals, or processing payroll, every role at ThriveMore contributes to the same mission: helping people thrive. Audrey's dedication illustrates how even work that happens behind the scenes has a direct impact on the people who call ThriveMore home.
