Meet Tatum Myers, the Healthcare Administrator at Brookridge Retirement Homes. She perfectly embodies the compassion and kindness you’ll find when visiting our beautiful community.

Doing what’s right for the health and wellness of residents is at the core of everything Tatum does in her role. She’s a problem solver by nature, streamlining the many tasks she handles, knowing they add up to being immensely important to the Brookridge community. This is one of the many reasons the Leadership Academy nominated Tatum to be a part of its leadership program.

The Leadership Academy is part of LeadingAge North Carolina. Their vision is to cultivate authentic servant leaders who provide care in the field of aging services. “Tatum is a natural fit for the Leadership Academy. She demonstrates very strong leadership skills and continues to grow in her role in our organization. Thank you, LeadinAge NC, for this great program that continues to cultivate leaders in our industry,” said Reed VanderSlik, President and CEO of Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina.

The program emphasizes five core themes: leadership and self-reflection, advocacy, partnerships and collaborations, innovation and change, and work-life integration. As she’s learning, Tatum is excited to adjust her administrative lenses and serve the Brookridge community differently: “Just because we have always done things a certain way, doesn’t mean we need to continue those same practices. For me, that’s what I’m most excited about—doing things differently.”

Outside the office, Tatum loves to spend time with her family. She has three beautiful children and enjoys spending time outdoors—walking or playing golf with her husband.
